A Building Site Isn't Ready Until It's Cleared and Level

Before a foundation goes in, the lot has to be cleared, levelled, and cleaned up, and that rarely sorts itself out. A raw lot is full of trees, brush, and roots. A rebuild has an old structure, a slab, or a driveway sitting where the new one goes. Either way, nothing starts until the site is ready.

Site preparation is the whole first stage. We clear what’s standing, grub out the stumps and roots, and rough grade the ground to shape, hauling the debris off as we go. If a structure has to come down first, we coordinate a demolition contractor and manage the site side around it. You’re left with a lot that’s level, clean, and ready for the trades.

Victoria lots bring their own trouble: rock close to the surface, old fill from past work, slopes that need cutting, and rain that turns bare ground to mud. We run compact excavators that fit tight residential access, break through rock where we hit it, and shape the ground so water runs off instead of pooling. On a tight lot, the right machine matters more than brute force.

A good build starts with good groundwork, and site prep is where it begins.

From the Quote to a Build-Ready Lot

We walk the site and quote it straight. We look at the lot, the access, and what’s on it, and go over what you’re building. Then we give you a written price and timeline.
We clear and grub. We take down and clear what’s standing, coordinating certified arborists for the tree work and a demolition contractor for any structure that has to come down. Then we grub out the stumps and roots and haul it all off.
We rough grade and shape the ground. We cut and fill to shape the lot, break out rock where it’s in the way, and rough grade it so it sits level and sheds water.
We clean up and hand it over.
The site is left clean and build-ready, and we do a final walk so you can sign off before the trades come in.

We initially discovered that under the thick ivy was nothing but rock, roots, and loose dirt—no stable ground for a fence. Demolition isn't part of our service, but we coordinate it and handle the clearing, grubbing, grading, and haul-off around it, so you're dealing with one crew running the job.
