The Boards Aren't Why a Fence Leans

A fence lives or dies on its posts. When one leans, sags, or heaves out of the ground a year later, it’s almost never the boards. It’s the holes they were set in and how they were set.

We come at a fence from the ground up. We drill the post holes, set the posts plumb and solid on a proper base, run the line straight, and stand the fence on top. It’s the part most crews rush, and it’s the part that decides how long a fence lasts.

Victoria makes post holes hard. Rock close to the surface, clay, and old roots stop a hand auger cold, which is why so many fences here get set shallow and start leaning within a season. We drill with machine augers and break through rock where a post has to go, so every post sits at full depth on solid ground.

From the Quote to a Fence That Holds the Line

We walk the line and quote it straight. We look at the fence line, the ground, the access, and the length and number of posts, then give you a written price and timeline.
We drill the post holes. Machine augers put every hole in at full depth, and we break out any rock in the way, so the holes aren’t cut short by what’s under the surface.
We set the posts solid. Each post goes in plumb, on a proper base, and dead on the line, because a post set solid is what the whole fence hangs on.
We stand the fence and clean up.
With the posts in right, the fence goes on straight and true, then we tidy the site and walk the finished line with you.

How much does fencing installation cost in Victoria, BC?

Fencing cost in Victoria depends on the length of the line, the number of posts, how hard the ground is to drill, whether there's rock, the fence itself, and how easily we can reach the line. A short back-yard run is a different job from fencing a whole property. Send photos and rough measurements and we'll give you an accurate written quote.

How long does it take to install a fence?

A short run can be a day or two. A long line, hard or rocky ground, or a big property takes longer, and you'll get an estimated timeline with your written quote.

Can you drill post holes through rock or in a tight yard?

Yes, and it's where we're strongest. We use machine augers and break rock where a post has to go, so holes get to full depth instead of being cut short, and our compact machines fit narrow access along a fence line that bigger equipment can't.

Do you build the whole fence, or just set the posts?

We handle the groundwork either way, the post holes, the base, and setting the posts solid on the line, and we build the fence on top of that.

Can you do farm or acreage fencing?

Yes. Long rural runs over rough or rocky ground are a good fit for our machines, whether you're fencing a paddock, running a property line, or keeping deer and livestock in or out. Acreage covers a lot of distance, and machine work sets the posts faster and more solid than doing it by hand.

Do you supply the fence materials, or do I?

We supply them. The posts, the hardware, and the fencing all come as part of the job, so you're not tracking down materials or making supply runs. If you've already bought your materials, or want a particular product, we can work with that too.
